Fellowships

The Ecological Farming Association (EFA) is please to announce an opportunity for farmers to attend the 2014 EcoFarm Conference as Farmer Fellows. Funding is still available from internet business funders to provide 27 Farmer Fellows full attendance at the 2014 EcoFarm Conference, including lodging and meals!

Awards will be made under two sets of criteria:

1. With support from a USDA Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program grant, EFA is able to provide a select group of 8 beginning farmers and ranchers with Fellowships. Successful applicants must be beginning farmers (10 years or less farming experience) and have farmed in the last year or plan to farm in the next year in one of these five counties: San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Monterey, or San Benito.

2. With support from the Appleton Foundation, 19 additional farmers will be able to attend as Fellows. Long-time, intermediate, and beginning farmers currently farming in California, committed to participate and offer input to a project to design a democratic, farmer-member directed Farmers’ Association are encouraged to apply!

Applications are available in English and in Spanish, online at www.eco-farm.org and will be considered on a rolling basis until the program is full. Applicants who plan to attend the conference whether or not they are awarded the Fellowship are encouraged to register by December 7, 2013 to receive the early registration discount. Accepted Fellows will receive a refund up to the amount of a full conference attendance with meals and lodging in a triple/quad. If you have questions, email conference@eco-farm.org.
